Just is the product of partnership between PANIM: The Institute for Jewish Leadership and Values and Hillel: The Foundation for Jewish Campus Life.
We would like to acknowledge the effort and support of a number of individuals who made significant contributions to this guide.

The text itself was the product of the hard work of a writing and editorial team
led by Rabbi Jason Kimelman-Block and Geoffrey Menkowitz. We owe our
deepest gratitude to Rabbi Nina Beth Cardin, who provided the backbone of
Section I and always helped us to think on deeper levels about the materials
we were covering. PANIM and Hillel staff provided constant feedback, contributions, and new ideas. We especially would like to acknowledge the significant contributions of Clare Goldwater, Michelle Lackie, Reuben Posner, Jonathan Horowitz, Jennifer Gubitz, Debbie Jacobson-Maisels, Jerry Kiewe, Michelle Lackie, Rachel Meytin, Rabbi Sid Schwarz, and Miriam Stein. Rabbi Jonathan Spira-Savett made contributions to Section II. Thank you also to Ari Moskowitz for his editing help and contributions to the PANIM lesson plans and Megan Brudney who lent her editing skills to our introduction. Thank you as well to Avraham Infeld for his review and helpful suggestions.

Thank you to the PANIM Jewish Civics Initiative partner agencies who piloted
the curriculum in their communities: Bureau of Jewish Education of Buffalo,
NY; Central Hebrew High School, Passaic, NJ; Congregation Beth Israel,
Glendale, WI; Congregation B’nai Israel, Boca Raton, FL; High School of Jewish Studies, San Diego, CA; Jewish Community High School of Gratz College, Philadelphia, PA; Maryland Teen Initiative, Baltimore, MD; Rebecca and Israel Ivry Prozdor High School Program, New York, NY; School of Advanced Jewish Studies, Pittsburgh, PA; Temple Beth Shalom, Needham, MA; Temple Emanu El, University Heights, OH; and Yachad, Sacramento, CA.

We are extremely grateful for the keen design skills of Stacey May, our layout
designer, and J.S. Rum and Company for designing and building the
www.justaction.org web site.

This project could not have been completed without substantial funding. Major support for Just came from the Nathan Cummings Foundation. A deep thank you to Rabbi Jennie Rosenn for her long-standing support for the Jewish Civics Initiative program and the Jewish social justice field in general. We also want to thank the boards and supporters of PANIM and Hillel for their support in providing the necessary staff resources to complete such an ambitious project.
